This is a joint picture of an American and Soviet film studio. In the late 70s in our country they tried to establish relations with other countries, to get rid of aggressive confrontation. American director George Cucor and his team arrived in the USSR to film this tale.
Among the actresses was Jane Fonda, who played Night. By that time, she was quite famous, had already managed to earn her first Oscar for her role in the film “Klyut”.
9. Jeanne Moreau, Anna Karamazoff | 1991
The director and scriptwriter of the picture was Rustam Khamdamov. It was shown at the Cannes Film Festival, but the film never appeared on the screens. The reason is the conflict between the producer and the director. The main role in it was played by the French actress Jeanne Moreau. She starred in 142 films.
After reading the script, she realized that she wanted to play in this film. The director began filming it back in 1988, but was left without money due to inflation. It took an investor. They became Moro's friend, Zilberman. It was he who insisted that the film be reduced and changed, adapting it for the French.
He wanted captions to appear that explained that the heroine was in a concentration camp. And, most importantly, he demanded to remove the black-and-white insert from the middle of the film, frames from the destroyed painting “Unexpected joys”. This insert did not like Moreau.
The producer refused to give the finished material, but did not succeed in redeeming it, because the required amount was not found. Only a pirated copy of the painting has survived. Jeanne Moreau was dissatisfied with this work. She blamed the director, saying that he redid all the scenes and perverted her work.
8. Annie Girardeau, The Journalist | 1967
Black and white film by Sergei Gerasimov consists of 2 parts. The first tells of a journalist Yuri who travels to a small town to find out if the complaints of Anikina, who wrote to the editor, are justified.
In the second, he goes to Europe. Meets with celebrities there. Really episodic roles in the film were played by Annie Girardot and Mireille Mathieu.
The picture turned out to be phenomenal, although viewers admit that you need to grow up to such a movie. In 1968, the Soviet Screen magazine conducted a survey. And, according to its results, the audience called the "Journalist" the best picture.
7. Beata Tyszkiewicz, The Noble Nest | 1969
In this film, Andrei Konchalovsky, based on the novel by I.S. Turgenev, one of the main roles was played by Beata Tyszkiewicz. This is a famous Polish actress who first appeared in films at the age of 16.
In the early 70s, she often went to shoot in other countries, including the USSR. Here she became popular after she appeared in the film "The Noble Nest."
6. Komaki Kurihara, “Moscow, my love” | 1974
The Soviet-Japanese painting tells the story of their girlfriend Hiroshima, who comes to Moscow to become a ballerina. She falls in love with the Moscow sculptor, wins the competition. However, the girl has a serious diagnosis - leukemia.
The role of Yuriko went to the Japanese actress Komaki Kurihara. This picture was a huge success not only in the USSR, but also in Japan. Later, she worked more than once with Soviet directors, starring in the movie "Melodies of the White Night" and participating in the production of "The Cherry Orchard."
5. Misha Barton, “You and Me” | 2011
This is a Russian-American film directed by Roland Joffe, in which the Tatu group also starred. The main character is an American who moved to Moscow. She is rich, spoiled, but tormented by loneliness, because she has no friends, and her father constantly disappears at work.
On the Internet, she meets Lana Starkova from a small provincial town and begins to communicate with her. The role of Lana was played by Misha Barton, which many remembered as Marissa from the series “Lonely Hearts”. She played many interesting roles.
4. Anthony Santilli, “The Incredible Adventures of Italians in Russia” | 1973
Soviet-Italian film, our famous director Eldar Ryazanov and his co-author Franco Prosperi worked on it. This is one of the best Soviet comedies, in which Andrei Mironov played the main role.
In the first year after its release, 50 million people watched it. The film starred the Italian actress Antonia Santinelli. Before that, she most often took part in erotic paintings.
